Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 22, 2026 · Policy version: 2026-08-22

This policy describes cookies and similar technologies used on Mexico Local Guide. Cookies are small browser files. Similar technologies include local storage and third-party network requests that can access device or connection information even when they do not set a cookie.

Optional Google Analytics and external map connections remain off if you reject them, close the notice without accepting, or make no choice. The guide remains usable; only optional analytics and interactive map imagery stay disabled.

How consent works

Our self-hosted Klaro consent manager offers Allow optional services, Continue without optional services, and granular settings. Optional controls are off by default. Consent covers device storage or access and the related personal-data processing for the selected purpose.

The preference cookie lasts 180 days so we remember acceptance and refusal equally. We also change the cookie name and request a fresh choice after a material change to purposes, providers, or disclosures.

Change or withdraw your choice

Select Privacy choices in the footer on any page. Withdrawal is as accessible as acceptance and affects future optional processing. It does not change the lawfulness of processing completed while consent was valid. Before first consent, rejecting analytics prevents the Google tag from loading. Withdrawing consent later disables further Analytics collection and removes matching first-party analytics cookies that the site can access. Rejecting or withdrawing maps removes the interactive map and stops new tile requests.

You may also use your browser settings to view, delete, or block cookies and local storage. Blocking essential storage can cause your colour or privacy choice not to be remembered, but it does not require you to accept optional services.

No advertising or affiliate cookies

Mexico Local Guide does not currently use advertising, behavioural targeting, or affiliate-tracking cookies. We will update this policy and request consent before enabling a new optional purpose.

Providers and international processing

Google, Esri, OpenStreetMap Foundation, and Cloudflare can process data in the United States, United Kingdom, EEA, or other countries. Read our Privacy Policy for recipients, legal bases, international-transfer safeguards, retention, and your rights.
